Bacta-PurŽ Sludgebusters
A sludge layer tends to form on the
bottom of ponds that have been in use for a few years. This is caused
by sedimentation of both garden and undigested fish wastes. Excess
waste accumulates on the bottom of the pond in dead corners and in
drains. The wastes may cause clogging in
pumps and filters. Decomposing wastes produces toxic gasses, which
cause noxious odors and may be the source of serious problems if the
surface of the pond freezes. Bacta-PurŽ Sludgebusters contains
beneficial micro-organisms that will efficiently biodegrade this kind
of waste.
Regular use prevents accumulation of organic solids so that drains,
pumps and filters require minimal cleaning. |
| Coarse sediments, such as
leaves, should be removed manually whenever possible by removing
organic waste. he beneficial
micro-organisms in Bacta-PurŽ Sludgebusters eliminate the causes for
noxious odors and reduce oxygen demand in the water, so that more
oxygen is made available to the fish.
The end result of bacterial activity is a reduction
of the amount of phosphate available to algae and
a biomass with a high protein in content that serves
as food for all "animals" in the pond.
Less organic waste means less pollution, less ammonia
. . . less stress and less disease. |
