The HI 700 Ammonia Low Range Checker is a simple, accurate and cost effective way to measure low ranges of ammonia in fresh water. Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI 700 provides quick, accurate results in four easy steps – details appropriate to model given below:

1. Add a sample to the included cuvette
2. Insert sample into the Checker and zero it out
3. Remove sample and add reagent (A & B – 4 drops of each)
4. Reinsert sample and click the button to measure your results or press and hold the button for 3 seconds for a time reaction reading

The HI 700 uses an adaptation of the ASTM Manual of Water and Environmental Technology, D1426-92, Nessler method. The reaction between ammonia and reagents causes a yellow tint in the sample.

Accurate and easy to use.

  • Small palm-sized design
  • Accurate from ±0.05ppm ± 5% of reading
  • Dedicated to a single parameter
  • Uses a single AAA battery
  • Auto Power Off after 10 minutes inactivity
  • Built-in timer for timed reaction readings

These high-quality reagents are clearly marked with the lot number and expiry date on each bottle for traceability.

This 25 pack of reagents is for use with the HI-700 Ammonia Low Range Pocket Checker.

The HI-700-25 are high-quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Ammonia Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Nessler Method in which the reaction between ammonia and reagents causes a yellow tint in the sample. By simply adding 4 drops from each bottle of HI-700-25 reagent set to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI-700 will determine the concentration from the colour that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppm (mg/L) of ammonia-nitrogen (NH3-N). These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.00 to 3.00 ppm ammonia-nitrogen. To convert the reading to ppm of ammonia (NH3) multiply the result by 1.214.

Tip for an accurate measurement

It is important that the sample does not contain any debris.

Whenever the cuvette is placed into the measurement cell, it must be dry outside and completely free of fingerprints, oil or dirt. Wipe it thoroughly with HI-731318 or a lint-free cloth prior to insertion.

Shaking the cuvette can generate bubbles, causing higher readings. To obtain accurate measurements, remove such bubbles by swirling or by gently tapping the cuvette.

Do not let the reacted sample stand for too long after reagent is added, or accuracy will be lost.

After the reading, it is important to discard the sample immediately, otherwise the glass might become permanently stained.

Four steps. One click. Instant Readout.

1. ‘Zero’ the Checker®HC with your vial inside

2. Place a 10ml water sample into the vial and add your reagent

3. Place your vial into your Checker®HC

4. Press the button and read the results
