Monitoring and controlling parameters such as the oxygen level as well as pH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate content in water is vital in ensuring production as well as a safe Environment for your koi. Accurate control can prevent disease, and fatalities in your pond. Hobbyists, research personnel, fish farm operators and wildlife specialists now have a once compact and easy-to-use Hanna C203 meter to keep a close tab on the most important parameters in aquaculture.
Simply take a sample of water and place it in the Hanna C203 to be zeroed. Add reagents to it and place it back in the Hanna C203. The meter will then show you the relevant value in mg/L or ug/L in clear digits on a large LCD. No need to match colours, calibrate probes or change membranes. All has been made simple so that you may get on with more rewarding tasks like feeding your koi.
The Hanna C203 is supplied complete with 2 cuvets, bottle for D.O. test, batteries, 12 vdc adapter and instructions. The Hanna C203 8 Parameter Test Meter comes with the reagents for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, Ph, and Dissolved Oxygen. The Hanna C203 comes with enough reagents to perform 100 tests.
How The Hanna C203 works? There is no need to calibrate as the test procedure does this for you. Fill the test tube with a clear pond water sample, insert into meter, press the “zero” button (this calibrates the pond water sample to the meter as a reference), add the reagent to the same test tube, Insert back into the meter, press the read timer button, this starts a timer count down, then the Hanna C203 Test Meter shows the result on the digital display. All have a 2-year warranty. | |

Nitrites are an intermediate product in the nitrogen cycle and are produced during ammonia oxidation with water, or even originate in industrial waste directly. They must not be present in drinking water.
Nitrites can be harmful to aquatic organisms even in low concentrations and for this reason, they are closely monitored in aquaculture facilities. In cooling towers, however, an adequate amount of nitrites is necessary to prevent corrosion. In high concentrations, they can be harmful to environment and to our fish.

Nitrates are present in nature as a result of the decomposition of organic microorganisms or due to their use as fertilizers. Nitrates reduce to nitrites, which in turn easily combine to form substances dangerous to man.
A maximum level of 45 mg/L is established as a worldwide guideline for nitrate concentration in water. In Europe, the maximum consented level of nitrates in potable water is 50.0 mg/L, while in the USA the EPA has established a guideline for the maximum level of nitrate nitrogen of 10 mg/L (NO-3-N), which corresponds to 45.0 mg/L of nitrates | | Item # | Description | Price | Add to Cart |

Hanna ORP Meter (Oxygen Reduction Potential)
Oxidation is a process in which a molecule or ion loses electrons. Reduction is a process by which electrons are gained. A measurement of the potential for these processes to occur is called ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential). Hanna's ORP is a unique hand-held tester developed to determine this value. ORP is a result of the wide demand for an accurate, affordable ORP tester. ORP has now been redesigned to be easier to use with a reinforced ergonomic casing adding a level of durability which is unsurpassed in the field as well as a much larger LCD for increased readability. This instrument is particularly valuable because there are no chemical test kits or litmus paper that can measure this parameter. Until now the only alternative was an expensive ORP electrode used with a special pH meter with mV readings, now there is ORP. The high-tech platinum electrode assures accuracy along with fast response and excellent repeatability. In addition, the exclusive clogging resistant junction insures extended life for this tester, making clogging no longer a concern.

The TDS testers are reliable, pocket sized instruments that will give you quick and accurate readings of conductivity and TDS. This popular line of Dissolved Solids Testers has been redesigned to offer a host of improvements. The casing has been designed for increased strength, a better fit for holding and a large LCD for easy viewing. The graphite sensors provide better repeatability since they do not oxidize. The casing has been engineered to allow air bubbles to escape.
Since Hanna Instruments first introduced DiST® (Dissolved Solids Tester) in 1986, the measurement of Conductivity and Total Dissolved Solids has never been easier. The DiST®'s ease-of-use in combination with its affordability has made it the standard in EC and TDS measurement. We have always valued your comments and suggestions and in this series, we have included all the features you have asked for and more!
The waterproof (it even floats!) DiST®5 tester has a dual-level LCD that displays EC or TDS and °C or °F. At startup, DiST®performs a self check then displays the remaining battery level to assure proper working condition.
The Hanna DiST®5 Waterproof EC/TDS/°C/°F Tester also features a stability indicator and hold feature to prompt the user when to take the reading & freeze the display for easy and accurate recording. The Hanna EC / TDS / Temperature meter has a stainless steel temperature probe for faster and more precise temperature measurement. Calibration and temperature compensation is automatic, while the EC / TDS conversion factor and temperature coefficient factor (ß) are user adjustable for application specific measurements. This advanced EC / TDS / °C / °F meter features graphite electrodes to provide the greatest possible accuracy as they cannot be contaminated by salt deposits in the solution and when the electrode finally is exhausted simply insert a new electrode cartridge!
- Dual Level Display
- Battery Level Indicator
- Replaceable Graphite Electrode
- Rugged, Floating Waterproof Casing
- Temperature in °C and °F
- Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC)
- Adjustable Temperature Coefficient Factor
