Our RO-200 4 stage water filter system is a professional system that helps to reduce harmful contaminants that find their way into your koi pond, directly affecting private wells and municipal water systems. It is ideal for you koi pond installation and provides a continuous supply of clean, filtered water that is suitable for households of all sizes.

This system is equipped with three pre-filtration stages which are explained below.

Further key features of this system include a high pressure switch to be used in conjunction with an automatic shut-off valve if adding a water storage tank, enabling the system to eliminate waste by closing the feed line when the tank is full or shut down and conserve power when the water pressure reaches 30 PSI. Automatic and manual flush valves to purge the reverse osmosis membranes prior to use, and a low pressure switch to safeguard the pump should the water supply fail, are also included as standard.

Our four stage water filtration system is factory tested and ready to use with connection hardware, tubing and instruction manual, all of which is designed to make installation and maintenance quick and easy without the need for a plumber.

It is offered as a complete set with filter cartridges, RO membranes, additional accessories and valves to prevent the membrane from becoming dried out.

Recommendations for Use:

  • Point-of-Use (POU) systems can filter out bad tastes, colours, odours, particulates, which pose no health risk but still affect the water quality
  • Recommended for water fed pole window cleaning, car valeting, aquatic organisms, hydroponics, large households
  • Ideal for domestic and commercial use where high volumes of purified water are required quickly
  • This system will improve the aesthetics of water used for drinking and cooking
  • Easy to transport, and simple to set up on site

Complete Package Contains:

  • The RO-200 is supplied with the following cartridges installed: PP, GAC, CTO
  • Automatic and manual flush valves, high pressure switch, low pressure switch
  • EC-203-200A self-regulating pump with safety step-down transformer
  • FDA approved water filter housings (including o'rings)
  • Feed water connector (can be fitted to copper mains water pipe)
  • RO membrane element type: 2 x 100 GPD thin film composite
  • Drain saddle valve, spanners for filter and RO housings
  • 1/4" tubing for system connection (5 metres)
  • 800cc flow restrictor, automatic shut-off valve
  • Instructions manual

STAGE, PART, COMPONENT, FUNCTION:

  • PP - 10" sediment cartridge (pre-filter) melt-blown polypropylene. 5 micron sediment filter traps dirt, sediment, rust and other particulate matter.
  • GAC - 10” granular activated carbon cartridge (pre-filter). Coconut shell granular is used to reduce chlorine, colour, taste, odour, pesticides and organic impurities.
  • CTO - 10" coconut shell carbon cartridge (pre-filter). Activated carbon block assures high-quality pure water by further reducing chlorine, colour, taste, odour.
  • 2 x 100GPD Membranes - Dual thin film composite reverse osmosis membrane (100 GPD - US Gallons - each), 0.0001 micron. Semi-permeable membrane removes salts, minerals, metals, bacteria, viruses, cysts, TDS, hardness, fluoride, pesticides, lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic and more. Due to the time needed to remove all these ingredients we strongly recommend purchasing a water storage tank with your RO system.

What should my water pressure be?

Between 1-3 bar. If between 3-4 bar, consider an un-pumped system.

What Gallon-Per-Day (GPD) is this system?

This is a 200GPD system.

How often should I replace the filters?

Change the pre-filters every 6 months or their recommended lifespans (whichever comes first).

  • Average lifespan of particle/sediment filter is 12,000L
  • Average lifespan of a GAC carbon filter is 15,660L
  • Average lifespan of carbon block filter is 15,913L
  • How often should I replace the membrane?

The membrane should be replaced every 12 months (as long as regular maintenance of the pre-filters and flushing is completed, see above for average life-span).

How quickly does this system make water?

This system produces water at a rate of 31.5 litres per hour (LPH). This is providing that you are running the unit in optimum conditions with the correct water pressure and water temperature.

What is the waste water to pure water ratio of this unit?

This unit has a waste to pure ratio of 3:1, meaning 3 litres of waste water to every 1 litre of pure water (running at optimum conditions).

Troubleshooting steps if the unit isn't working - Initial Checks

  • Check the power to the system
  • Check the water supply to the system
Check the power plug is switched on
  • Check the fuse in the plug and check the fusebox

What information will be needed when requesting technical advice?

  • Age of the system
  • When the filters were last changed
  • When the membrane(s) were last changed
  • Incoming water pressure
  • Incoming water TDS
  • Pure water TDS
  • Pure water production
  • What position the flush valve is in

Important: Do not use with water that is micro-biologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Water filtration systems can help reduce the presence of contaminants. In addition, some water filtration systems can help reduce the presence of micro-organisms or other contaminants that pose potential health risks.

As with all RO diaphragm pumps they are not designed for 24/7 operation and you need to rest the pump for 30 minutes every 4 hours. This can be achieved using a low cost plug-in timer.

Limited Warranty: Vyair warrants that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty, together with any and all warranties implied by law, shall be limited to a period of twelve (12) months from the date of original purchase. This limited warranty does not apply to failures that result from abuse, misuse, alteration or failure to properly comply with installation, or cartridge change instructions. Vyair strongly recommends adding to all point of use filtration systems a Pressure Limiting Valve (contact us for further details) to guard against unwanted extreme water pressure events, pressure increases, surges, and water hammer which could occur in the water pipes. Not having one installed could mean that if you ever did have to claim damage caused by a burst water filter system, your claim could be denied.

Pump care:

Do not run a pump for more than 4 hours continuously. This is to stop the pump from overheating and becoming damaged. To achieve this, we would suggest installing some form of timer, so that after 4 hours of operation the pump has a 15-30 minute break. This will enable the pump to cool down.

The warranty for the pump would be null and void if no timer is used. If there is an issue with the pump we would ask for evidence of a timer being used to allow the item to be covered by the warranty

Do not allow the pump to run dry (without an active water source) as this will damage the pump. The only time that we would suggest running the pump without an active water supply is if you have a low pressure switch wired into the pump, as this will automatically switch the pump off when the incoming water flow is turned off.

The warranty for the pump would be null and void if used in an application of running dry without a low pressure switch- We will ask for evidence of use of a low pressure switch to receive a warranty replacements of the pump

We suggest that the pumps are permanently mounted. This is to stop any potential for the pump to vibrate and become damaged.

We will ask for evidence of how the pump is mounted for the item to be covered by its warranty.
